With the election coming up and the Senate sitting next year, it’s clear that software firms are looking for new talent to fill the vacancies in the IT industry, even if they’re not quite ready to start their new jobs yet.
The industry employs nearly half of the world’s workers and employs more than 3.3 million people worldwide.
But while the IT workforce has seen a surge in hiring, the number of IT employees in the U.S. and Canada has fallen since the mid-1990s, with the United Kingdom and Australia now the leading regions.
That’s partly because of the outsourcing of many IT jobs to China, which has had a harder time replacing workers and has historically been more costly.
However, a growing number of technology companies, like Facebook, have begun hiring more American workers for technology roles, and some tech firms are taking advantage of that trend to bring new hires to the U!
“There is a lot of interest in the software industry, but there is also a lot more that is happening in IT,” says Mike Ollivant, VP of operations for Google.
Olligant says that Google’s hiring has increased by more than a third in the past five years, and that the company has seen an increase in the number and types of employees it hires from all over the world.
Google’s hiring of American workers in recent years has helped it build a highly skilled workforce, and Ollilvant says the company is looking to expand that pool of talent in the future.
“We are constantly looking for candidates, so we are hiring more and more people in the United States and globally,” Ollillant told Ars.
“I don’t think the number is really changing too much, but the number has increased.”
Olliliotant says Google is particularly interested in hiring people who are “very technically oriented” who are able to work on software that has “a lot of new features and functionality.”
Google has also recently hired some software developers for new projects, and Google is recruiting people who have experience with programming languages like Java and PHP.
“We’re definitely not going to be hiring everyone who has been in the business for a long time, but we’re looking to find some more skilled people,” Olli says.
Google is looking for a software engineer who is able to do software development work on a project with a “high degree of confidence” from a programmer.
The company also says it’s interested in people who can work on new products and services.
Google recently added a new program for developers to receive a $50,000 incentive if they have at least six months of experience in the field.
The program will focus on “high-quality development and testing of new products, APIs, and services.”
Olli, who also works at Google, says that the hiring of new employees is something the company plans to continue.
“When you’re hiring a new team, it can be really difficult to find a good fit for a position,” he says.
“It’s difficult to know who’s a good candidate for the job, and when you do that, it becomes a challenge to find the right fit.”
Ollill has a number of other hires lined up in the coming weeks, including engineers, programmers, designers, and even software engineers.
He says that in the next few months, Google plans to hire more than 50 new employees.
